Hi,

We have got 2 2611XM in our setup and both have been configured for WIC1T Smart Serial Card.

However one of them is throwing the an exception on DFM that "Interface Exceeded Maximum Uptim"

Any ideas guys?

Regards,

Wilson Samuel

The Maximum Uptime parameter sets the maximum length of time that the interface may be up before the Exceeded Maximum Uptime notification is generated. If the value of this parameter is 0, the Exceeded Maximum Uptime event is disabled. The default value is 2 hours.

I assume PPP is configured on that line so DFM thinks it is a kind of temporary link like a dial connection. Temp links (links with PPP) have a default for max uptime defined. And if you have a leased line it should be that you exceed the max uptime... ;-).

To avoid this you have to define a new interface group for this kind of port with no max uptime defined and perhaps some matching criteria unique for this device so only this port will be added to that group and not all PPP interfaces.

see the DFM user guide for details and also:
