F5 and Ciscoworks

Hi,

I have BigIP F5 load balancer and i need it to send snmp traps and syslog messages to ciscoworks, Can i do it?

Do i need to do any thing extra on ciscoworks? what is the MIB used?

No, this will not work.  Syslog and fault management in LMS does not work with non-Cisco devices.  What you can do is add your load balancer into LMS and get basic MIB-II inventory from the device.  Additionally, if you have Health and Utilization Monitor, you can do general availability and MIB polling of the F5.

Hi, if i want to add it manually, should i go to RME and add new device with the same community ?

I have checked my load blancer and it needs OID ? from where i can get it?

Assuming LMS 3.x, go to Common Services > Device and Credentials > Device Management and add your load balancer there.  You do not need to specify the sysObjectID.  Leave it as UNKNOWN, and LMS will find the right value.
