Guidelines/Best Practices for Configuring Logging ?

I'm looking for some guidelines and best practices to configure logging on IOS devices, Fastswitch and Catalyst switches. I also want to configure the devices to send the messages to a syslog server.

would suggest to go thru this link which gives u up the guidelines in configuring the basic logging in your equipments.
