I want to clear log in cisco works 4.0 LMS

Hi ,

I have a cisco works LMS 4.0 and i want to clear logs in it.

I have 4-5 log file in cisco works folder

1.EPMServer.log

2.PTMServer.log

3.DFMLogServer.log

4.AdapterServer1.log

5.CampusOGSServer.log

6.ConfigMgmtServer.log

How can i clear log ...

I do not want to delete these logs,first i want to backup of thease logs...

you should use logrot.pl to rotate the logs (installed with LMS). With this tool you can keep histories of each file and define the file size for each individual file at which the file should be rotated. Search for logrot.pl in the online help of your LMS server to get details on how to configure it.

I dont havr the below option in my LMS 4.0 how can i move big log file to another location .

CiscoWorks LMS Portal > Common Services > Server > Admin > Log Rotation

On LMS 4.0, the relevant settings are accessed via "Admin > System > Log Rotation" menu. Please reference this section of the Admin Guide for both the GUI and CLI instructions.

this is not LMS 4.0.

Look under Common Service > Software Center > Software Update for the correct version. If you are still not sure,  this document could help - or post a screenshot of the above mentioned LMS page

you can also search for logrot.pl in the online help of your LMS server to get details about how to configure logrot in your version of LMS (I guess there is only the cli version of this tool)
