Is there any ifMIB bug, particularly concerning ifHCInOctets or ifHCOutOctets, for Cisco 7200 router running (C7200-SPSERVICESK9-M) 12.4(6)T1? I'm seeing large deltas (MIB counters decrementing) when polling those two OIDs with even 30-sec intervals.

Haven't seen these types of issues in years. What kind of interface is this?

All I know is the three ports are on the same module (number zero). Port 1 is gigabit SX, and media-type gbic. Ports 2 and 3 are both running 100mbit full, but gigabit-capable, media-type rj45. Only ports 1 and 2 cannot be reported, due to large delta in ifHCInOctets/ifHCOutOctets values, with either 30-sec or 5-min polling intervals. I have to switch to the following formula: (decode($(speedTotal),0.00,0.00,((((ifInOctets + ifOutOctets)*8)*100.0)/$(speedTotal))))/deltaTime to get those two ports's bandwidth utilization, per the reporting tool vendor's advice. The puzzle is why is Port 3 not affected? Is this a problem with the MIB agent in the IOS on the 7200?
