I wasn't sure where to ask this, but this seems the most relivent (sort of).
Is there a document somewhere which details how IOS licensing works, along with how upgrades, etc work?
I've looked around the cisco site, but can't seem to find any information on this other than the basic idea that 'IOS upgrades can be purchased through 2 ways; through a smartnet contract as an upgrade, or without a contract through a new license'. Also there was mention that upgrades through the 'product upgrade paths' are free. I just want alot more detail. What are the 'product upgrade paths', and what are the 'rules'?
There's got to be information about how it all works somewhere...If only I could find it!
