IPSWITCH NMS

Hi,

Have anyone used Ipswitch WhatsUp Professional NMS for monitoring Network devices particularly monitoring WAN links . I'm planning to install the evaluation copy and see how it works. Input from the professionals who used this tool will be greatly appreciated.

Hi

We had been using that and its very easy to configure as well as easy to manage.

it operates on ICMP to poll the equipments configured.

you got to have maps wherein you will configure ur equipments with their IP address.

The NMS will poll them on using their ip address ,u can easily define the polling interval as well as the retried before it annonuces the device as dead..

we had a good experince with that but if you want more sophisticated level of monitoring on port basis or card basis this is not the one u shuld go for..
