I have applied the kron command:
kron occurrence Save at 23:00 28 recurring with the policy list, etc.
My NTP is working. The kron script ran the fist time through and then the second time, it did not run on the specified day which is the 28.
The kron script ran again 3 days later (not the specified date) and it caused my routers to have a software crash. Some routers recovered and others needed to be hard boot.
After the routers recovered and the routers that needed to be reloaded were reloaded, the kron schedule showed the correct time schedule.
My question is why did it run through the 1st time with no issues and the second time it ran through at an unscheduled time causing all my routers to freeze and crash and some recovered adn others needed to be rebooted.
The euipment in question is the 2811 Routers and the 3845 router.
Please, I need to explain this issue and any help will be much appreciated.

To answer this, you will need to provide the output of show version as well as the kron configuration you were using. If a router crashes again, it would also be helpful to see the output of show stack.

I checked the show version and I extracted this part:
System returned to ROM by error - a Software forced crash, PC 0x4007AA3C at 23:55:52 EST Fri Dec 31 2010 |
My kron config was as follows:
kron occurrence Save at 23:00 28 recurring
policy-list Save
kron policy-list Save
cli wr
I hope this helps

I still need to see the "show version" output from this router that crashed.

Ok here is the show ver for a router that recovered from the Software Forced crash..

This is just one of the many. Do you want a show version of one of the routers that needed to be reloaded also?
01-03-2011 12:30 PM
Yes, a show ver from them would be good. I'd also like to see the "show stack" from this router that did crash.

I have attached the show stack from the router that crashed and recovered.
This is the sh ver from the the router that crashed and needed to be reloaded...

This is bug CSCsm20994. The description may not match exactly, but there was another bug duped to this that matches your exact symptom. If you upgrade to 12.4(20) or higher, the problem should go away.
