LMS 3.0 - Port Status

Does anyone know how to either display or report when a router or switch port is not passing traffic at the maximum speed?  For example, if a Gigabit port speed is not at 1000M but is only at 100M.  Can this be displayed in some way?  Can this be reported in some way?  Can an Alert be set?

In LMS, you can use HUM fo Utilization monitoring. HUM interface utilization should be the poller template to use to generate this type of report based on whatever threshold criteria you define in the poller.

It appears that HUM requires Ciscoworks LMS 3.2.  We are currently running Ciscoworks LMS

3.0.  We do not have access to the software DVD for Ciscoworks LM

S 3.2.  Can we upgrade each appliction seperatly?

  If so, how?  Is there an upgrade guide?

LMS 3.2 upgrade is free of charge but HUM is still a separate purchase. You can download the eval which is really a full version and use your existing licenses file. You must upgrade the whole LMS as a whole note each application.

Ensure that you backup your licenses files from NMSROOT/MDC/etc/licenses directory.  NMSROOT is your CiscoWorks installation directory.

  Besides HUM as Nael already suggested, you could try the "Port Attributes" report from Campus Manager.  This can provide at least the current speed the port is running at and let you know if a Gigabit port is running only at 10M as seen on the attached screenshot.

I tried the download but get the following error when I try to run the downloaded application - downloader_48365_lms32win:

Not a valid Win32 application

I just notieced that the downloaded file is 0 bytes in size.  Any thoughts?

Re-download the file again and make sure you place in a directory that you have read/write permissions.

Just hold off for a day or so, you are correct its downloading 0 bytes for the file size. I will investigate this issue internally.

But, back to the original question to display or report when a router or switch port is not passing traffic at the mazimum speed.

HUM may work fine (I have not worked with it) however, it is an add on for Ciscoworks and is a seperate purchase.  At this time we may not be able to make additional purchases.  Although we will take a look at it...

The Port Attributes report from Campus Manager does show all ports and their status.  However, it shows all ports from Gigabit ports to FXO ports and FXS ports.  If this is an option, is there a way to limit the report to certain type s of ports or filter out ports that you are not concerned with (like the FXO and FXS ports)?

...any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Yes, HUM requires a separate license which is why I included the Campus Report option.  There is no way to filter this report from the GUI itself.  The only option I can think of would be to export to a CSV file and do any filtering there.
