LMS 3.2 update issues

I have installed some new line cards into some chassis based switches and LMS says it is an unsupported line card.  I am trying to update LMS 3.2 so that it well recognize the new line card when using CiscoView, but get the following error message:

It appears to be a Java issue, but I have not updated or touched Java out of fear of breaking stuff.

LMS 3.2 uses CiscoWorks CiscoView 6.1.9. The release notes for the latest Cat6000IOS package (version 35.0, dated 24 November 2011) indicate your card is not yet supported in CiscoView.

Well, I tried to install packages manually, but it really doesn't seem to matter.  I am looking for a device package that will recognize WS-X6716-10T.  Is there one available?

Yeah, was afraid of that.  Anyone know if there will be a package released soon that will support it?

Cisco doesn't generally publicly announce what's coming and when. If you have an account rep, they may be able to get confirmation of roadmap commitment for you.

That said, the previous package update for Cat 6K came out 3 months prior to V35.0 so the casual observer might expect something 3 months following November 2011 = this February. Hard to say if a particualr card will be included in that though.

I believe IOS support for that card rolled out in 12.2(33)SXI4 which was released in mid-2010. So, CiscoView is lagging quite a bit in this case.

Agreed.  But, the acct rep sounds like the best avenue to go.  It is a relatively new card, but I thought that CiscoView would have had a package out by now.  Thanks.  You pretty much verified my fears.

That aside, it still doesn't explain why I am getting the error when I try to update my packages.  I found another post that said to download and install the packages manually and that it was an issue with cisco.com itself.

Yeah, I've been seeing similar package update errors even from an LMS 4.1 installation recently. I have't gotten around to troubleshooting it or opening a TAC case. Since I don't have any new hardware needing support, it's been low priority on my list.
