LMS 4.1 Not starting

We have LMS 4.1 - it was working perfectly for some time - it was rebooted and now the services dont start correctly

I manually started most of the services but the Daemon service will not start.

The main page comes up and after I log in - all the sections list an error

'License Server / Deamon Manager  is down. Please check license.log for more information'

Any advice appreciated

Find and run the resetcasuser.exe in CSCOpx\setup\support. Recreate the casuser with a password that meets the standards of your domain.

Something has tampered with he permissions of the casuser account that runs the LMS processes.

A domain policy server is able to do this kind of thing.

Make sure all services are set to manual startup except the daemon manager, the syslog , tftp and RCP service.

Cheers,

Michel

Start the daemon tools by using this commands

For windows : net start crmdmgtd

For solaris : /etc/init.d/dmgtd/ start

In the command prompt.

Hope this will solve ur problem.

I am suspicious that a policy was pushed impacting the casuser but I cant prove it -

The fix is as follows -

Stop all services relating to CiscoWorks/LMS/CiscoPrime

Run - CSCOpx\setup\support\resetcasuser.exe

reset to old passpord seems to work fine.

Start the Daemon Manager Process

Wait about 30 minutes - all services seem ok.
