New Level 15 user cant SSH to ISR4431 router

Hi every one, I am struggling log in to my cisco router using the new created user account. The existing user account works fine, created a new user account (username admin privilege 15 password 0 Welcome123) then tried to use this account to log in and failed. 

line vty 0 4
exec-timeout 15 0
login local
transport preferred ssh
transport input ssh
transport output ssh

which part I am missing to get the new account working please. thanks guys.

     - How did the login fail (which error)  + anything in the logs after the failed-login ?

Hi M, it kept asking the password. Looks like the new user password is not recognised by the router.

how are you accessing using SSH ? what is the other username presented ?  is this for Local only or using Radius ?

Hi BB, I created a local user account on the router.

there is an existing user account I can use SSH to router, no problem at all. I want to create a new user account and password, then delete the current one for security reason. thanks,

Just tested as below one of ISR4431/K9 - works as expected.

username Test1 privilege 15 secret 5 Testing
username test2 privilege 15 secret 5 Testing

post the config bit to look.

this works, thanks heaps. why "secret" works not "password"?
