Good morning all
The Cisco Nexus 3548 and 3524 have the following hardware configuration:
● 48 fixed Enhanced Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP+) ports (1 or 10 Gbps); the Cisco Nexus 3524 enables only 24 ports
States in the documentation it accepts 1 or 10G SFPs. But when I put 10G RJ-45 SFPs I get "invalidXv" under status. I've tried different entries but still same issue.
Does anyone know if this is a software upgrade or is it that it only accepts fiber 10G?
Software
BIOS: version 4.2.0
NXOS: version 9.3(7)
BIOS compile time: 09/23/2017
NXOS image file is: bootflash:///nxos.9.3.7.bin
NXOS compile time: 3/10/2021 3:00:00 [03/10/2021 13:39:29]

OK, that chart seems to be all optics with a few electrical. I didn't see the RJ-45 10G listed and it is a cisco part (SFP-10G-T-X)
From the switch "show int status"
Eth1/2 -- invalidXv 1 auto auto SFP-10G-T-X
So it see's and recognizes the SFP

- If you look at https://tmgmatrix.cisco.com/?npid=1121 (e.g.) ; find copper , mentioned transceivers in left column will only go up to 1G , seems documentations is faulty ,

10G RJ-45 SFPs - is this cisco SFP ? what is the model and any picture.
When you insert the SFP in to switch, what logs you see on the console or show logging last 100
as per the information as of now only nexus 9K and NC support this :
Transceiver to host compatibility

According to Cisco TAC the N3K-3524P-10G-X will do 10G via fiber but not RJ-45. Even though the fiber SFP converts the laser to electrical to transit the switch. Even though there is a 10G RJ-45 SFP made by Cisco out there.
What a load of donkey waste.
