Hi

you would use it when using ip sla , ip sla can be used for failover reasons or for testing jitter on voice vlans and phones etc , its powerful feature when used right even works with http as well

Itrs not platform dependent but more software you need at least a routing image like ipbase to run it sometimes ipservices

Thanks .. So what is the diffrence between ( ip sla monitor )  and ( ip sla ) ?  .. Thanks in advance

Thats the same feature , you can have just on one side ip sla monitor responder which can be the device does not support full sla configuration as the source of the sla  but will respond with stats for the ip sla on far end

This mean in IP SLA monitor .. I need to have ip sla responder ? ....  Look  I need to monitor the Packet loss in my network for multi hop .. to check the performance for my network ..  So which IP SLA you recommend  to do this that support not only cisco device .. Thanks in advance
