private ASNs, Bogons, and security

This might be a dumb question but I'm still learning about eBGP, private ASNs, network BGP peering, and am wondering when setting Bogon filtering, for my private ASN, do I just pick a number or do I get it from my ISP?  I am planning on using the Team Cymru type config.

For a private network, you can use private ASN  between 64512 to 65534. But if you are thinking to do the peeing with Internet ISP then you have to use your own Public ASN and it is similar to take a Public IP block.

We do not know much about your environment and that makes it difficult to really understand your question. But if you are going to be running BGP and connect to an ISP then certainly you want to talk with the ISP and coordinate what ASN you would use. If that does not address your question then please provide more detail about your environment and what you are attempting to achieve.
