Problem with communication between host and DHCP server

Workstation tries to obtain IP address sending DHCP request. Unfortunately it does not see any response from DHCP server although server is up and running, router interfaces are up and ICMP communication is possible. Why is this happens and how to eliminate it ?

interface GigabitEthernet0/1 needs an ip helper-address:

interface GigabitEhernet 0/1

ip address 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0

--> ip helper-address 10.0.0.2

adding to other suggestion made  - what is the DHCP  Routing table looks like, does DHCP Server know how to reach 192.168.1.X  network?
