Hello gurus,
I have the following question:
when I try to distribute an IOS image to a 2960 switch via RME Software Distribution I get the following error message:
Software Distribution Message: SWIM1100: Cannot find SNMP-V2 Read-Write Community String in the Device and Credential Repository.
Do I need to have set up SNMP write community for that operation even if I want to use SSH for Software Image upgrade?
The system used is LMS 3.2/RME 4.3.1
Thanks in advance for all your input,
Vesko

The error message is (too) generic.
You need to tell SWIM to use SSH or it will use telnet.
Check the joblogs in \CSCOpx\files\rme\jobs\swim\

Michel

Hello Michel,
thanks for the fast answer.
At the moment the settings in the Software Management Preferences are:
Image Transfer Protocol Order:
SCP, TFTP
and
Use SSH for Software Image upgrade and software image through CLI enabled.
Is that what you meant that needed to be done? If yes, even though I have set that up I still get that error message.

Yes that is what I meant. The message you get is meaningless generic.
You may want to post the joblogs here.
You may need to rerun the job with debug on swim enabled.
Did you configure a SCP username and password?
Cheers,
Michel

Hi again,
I will check out these logs now and if I cannot find my way there I will ask for help.
Thanks,
Vesko
