QPM - why not supported?

In QPM-3.2, I discovered my 4500 but its status is 'not supported'. IOS is cat4000-i5k91s-mz.122-25.EWA5.bin

ROM: 12.2(20r)EW1 cisco WS-C4506 (MPC8245) processor (revision 4) with 262144K bytes of memory.

Same behavior is for 3560. However, 6509 is 'ok'. Why is that ? compatibility guide lists these switches are supported.

Exactly which version of QPM 3.2 do you have? You need at least 3.2.1 to support any 3560 switches. And then you will only have support for sysObjectIDs 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.563 and 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.564.

As for your 4500, assuming the sysObjectID is actually 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.502, you may have to map the version of IOS from 12.2(25)EWA5 to 12.2S from the device properties page, then do a rediscover of the switch. But again, you will need at least 3.2.1 to do this.

The latest version of QPM is 3.2.3.

Thanks for the quick response. How do I find out what are sysObjectIds for my 4506 and 3560 and 6509 switches ?

Q.2. How do I map the version of IOS from 12.2(25)EWA5 to 12.2S from the device properties page. What does it do? Will it not impact the QOS commands generated ? It may generated commands not compatible with the 12.2.(25)EWA5. Is upgrading to a higher release a better option ? Right now its being mapped to 12.1E and theres no other choice available.

you get the sysObjectId of your devices with a snmpwalk on the following MIB OID:

.1.3.6.1.2.1.1.2

for the mib walk you can use any tool like getif or net-snmp

Mapping to 12.2S will not impact the QoS commands sent to the device. 12.2EWA is derived from 12.2S. However, if you only see 12.1E, then you only have QPM 3.2. You should upgrade to 3.2.3. However, mapping to 12.1E will get you some support with your 4500.
