Replace old switch with new having the same IP address

Hi Community

Is it possible to force LMS 4.2 to rediscover a new switch model having the same IP and the same hostname as the old one it replaces? Our problem is that we are replacing a lot of Cisco 2950 switches with new Cisco 2960S switches. The new switch will have the IP address of the old, and the hostname will also be the same. See the attached picture, where it seams that the switch is and old 2950, but in real life the switch is a new 2960S. Is there any method to force LMS to rediscover the switch, or do we have manually to delete the switch and wait for a rediscover?

Run a Inventory JOb for them and see it should be successful. As IP and hostname are same, but a different sysObjectID of devices,a sper different model, should get these devices in Out-Of-Sync.

Configuration > Compliance > Out-of-Sync  Summary

Once synced they should show the correct devcie types inluding image and platform.

Hi Vinod

This does not work. This is only for resync of the archive, which odly enough actually works. The configuration files are correctly being archived, but the updating of the inventory fails. And the switch does not show in the out-of-sync summary.

But deleting and doing a new discover is always working, and after that the device is seen as a Cisco2960s switch.
