I am going to do RME database restore.
Any idea where stores those database backups. How often does RME do those database backups and can i manage that action.

To schedule (or perform) backups, go to:
Common Services -> Server -> Admin -> Backup
You may specify the directory to backup to there
(as well as frequency and generations)

By default, backups are not enabled
What version of RME?

Hai,
go to ciscoworks installed directory(ex:C:\program Files\CSCOpx)
cd bin
give the following commande
perl restorebackup.pl
[-d BackupDirectory] [-gen GenerationNumber] [-t TempDirectory]
[-help]
the options are
[-d BackupDirectory] Directory where RME 3.4 or RME 3.5 backup
data is available. This is mandatory.
[-gen GenerationNumber] Version to be migrated to RME4.0. By
default, it will restore the latest backup data. If generations 1 through
5 exist, then 5 will be the latest. This is optional.
[-t TempDirectory] Temporary directory used by restore framework
to extract the content of backup archive. By default the temporary
directory is created under NMSROOT as
NMROOT/tempBackupData. You can customize this, by using this -t
option, where you can specify your own temp directory. This is to
avoid overloading NMSROOT. This will be deleted after the data
restoration is complete. This is optional.
U should know where the backup is stored...
If u scheduled hte backup uc an see the directory in which it is stored.
give that path for backup directory
Hope this information is useful if so pls rate this :)

Hi,
I have read through your reply to a backup restore issue and I thought you may be able to help.
I have run a scheduled weekly backup from Common Services>Server>Admin>Backup for sometime now.
I now have to prove the backups work.
I have run the restorebackup.pl command and runs ok for a good while then I get the following message flashing on my monitor:
ERROR: Unable to close LOG_HANDLER
ERROR: Error in extracting single file.
Any advice on this as I have tried this 3 times but to no avail?
There is no relevant info in the restore logs either.
When I stop the ERROR: Unable to close LOG_HANDLER
ERROR: Error in extracting single file.
I then get ERROR: Error in executing the tar command [-1]
ERROR: Unable to close LOG_HANDLER
ERROR: Unable to delete directory g:\CISCOW~1.5\tempBackupData in deleteDirector
y()
Restore failed.
I run LMS2.5, CS 3.0.4, CM 4.0.4, DFM 2.0.3, RME 4.0.4 on a Windows 2000 server.
I do hope you can shed some light on the matter.
Thanx in advance.
