I have a need to manually set the Speed and Duplex on interfaces connecting a ISR Router and 3650 Switch in a remote destination. Normally, once you set "no negotiation auto" on an interface you'll loose connectivity between the 2 devices essentially dropping whatever ssh connection I have to that far-end device.
Looking at the new Web GUI in the IOS version 16.6.6 (*both ISR and Switch are running the same 16.6.6 version), it looks like I can manually set Speed and Duplex, and THEN apply the config.
So I'm wondering if I manually set the Switch's interface to Full Duplex/100, then apply the config. Would this be a good way around loosing connectivity once entering "no negotiate auto", and then being unable to set speed and duplex because I've lost connectivity..?
