Dear All,

i was asked to configure a new set of switches using a template-based configuration. As it easier to managed the configuration and setting.
Been using CLI to configure switches and routers for 2 years.
copy and paste configuration to backup and restore.

So, what is a template-based configuration?
How is it different from the normal configuration?

New Models like Cat 9K is part of SD-Access, so they Manange by DNAC, So DNAC is centralised Template based config, which push to all devices,

here is example :

 - A base template can not be exactly defined , and depends on the network environment or cosmetic requirements such as port-descriptions (comments) and motd-configuration, for instance. Presuming a template will contain a core of configuration-settings which are applicable on all switches , this may also include for instance vty settings and secret password(s)

HI Marce,

Thanks for your reply.

Do you have any info on how to configure or activate the base template?
the switches are C9200.
