Using AP Aux port for a PC

I have a 1702I and need to deploy them in remote parts of the building, without running more cable. I have a POE access port facing the AP, but I'm trying to steal a PCs cable and just plug the PC into the aux port but I can't get an IP when I do that.

I've read stuff online, but can't figure out what I'm missing. Is it absolutely necessary to use a trunk port? Am I missing something as far as enabling the aux port?

Anyone? I mean, online it says that I can hook things like printers and IP cameras etc. to it, but I don't see mention of a PC. Although, I fail to see the difference...
