Why is the window size in selective repeat protocol half the available sequence number space ?

I am not getting the actual reason why sender and receiver window size in SR protocol are half the available sequence numbers .what if it is greater than half the available sequence numbers ?

Please explain precisely .

I am not getting that after ACK of packet 2 was lost , how did it send packet 0 again ?

Why is packet 2 not re transmitted again ?
