I am usinng sw release 8.0(4), advisory recommends 8.0(4)28, how do I know which interim release I have? Is it by compile date? Interim releases are not shown via "show version" all I have is compile date which is not the current 8.0(4)code and associated compile date.

We also had 8.0(4), today we've upgrade to 8.0(4)28 and show version shows:
Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Software Version 8.0(4)28.
So interim release do show via "show version"

Where can you download this software. If I go to the Cisco download site to the ASA under security, all I see is release 8.0.4.ED. If I go to the Interim releases, I see 8.0.4.23. Where can I get the 8.0.4.28 release.

If you have a Cisco login you can download the software from http://www.cisco.com/pcgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/ASAPSIRT
The full advisory, with more details of various ways to obtain the software, is at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/products_security_advisory09186a0080a994f6.shtml
