hi out there
we have a cisco fmc 2600 which currently is running 6.6.5 and this I wish to upgrade to 7.2.5
When i downloaded the images i noticed that for 7.0 there was also firmware update avalibly for the hardware. Now I cam a bit in doubt if it is wise to go from 6.6.5 directly to 7.2.5 - or one should do it in steps like:
6.6.5 -> 7.0 -> 7.2.5
What is your experience out there?

As noted in the linked documents other already provided, "6.6.5 -> 7.0.x -> 7.2.5 " would be the supported path. Specifically, 7.0.6 would be the suggested interim step in that path.
The BIOS hotfix EL for 7.0 is just some minor CIMC updates and not required unless you are having issues with CIMC or are required for legal or regulatory reasons to apply all available patches.

Note make sure also check the FTD comptability matrix.
