CSM 3.3.1 IPS 7.X

Dear all

We current have CSM 3.3.1 sp1 used for the management of all of our security elements ASA, IPS.

A few days back we came across a problem with one of our IPS devices.

While trying to bootstart the IPS to CSM the following error is generated:

Fail to discover policy for signatureDefinition component. Detail: Error encountered while generating policy IpsSignaturefor instance sig0.

The suggestion action is to retry the operation and contact CTA.

Has anyone encountered this error?

The IPS is a IPS-4240 ver 7.0(2)E4 and we can access it via IDM and SSH from hosts directly but not from the CSM.

All other IPS devices have no problem and are integrated to CSM with no problems.

Access is permitted to the CSM from the IPS.

Can you suggest anything?

It sounds like you may be encountering bug CSCtg23806:

The work around is to default all signatures > 50000 on the sensor and then attempt to add to CSM.
