Hello to everyone
I'am pursuing CCSP certification , I just got the IDS-4210 on ebay form bunkrupt company ,my problem is that the password is set and I have problem to recover it , I have no cd with recovery/upgrade to recover.I really dont know the version of the image installed , I can tell that it has 512 memory and 20G harddirve.I'am rellay desperate coz I paid so much money and now for me is useless. I would really appreciate if somene could provide with some tools and solution to this problem. thanks in advance

Hi Marius,
I think u need to have a CD with boot image for password recovery. See this URL. It has a brief explanation for recovering the password of IDS

You can recover password via console. At the time of booting you can pick the recovery partition from the LILO boot menu. This will force reimage of the application partition, setting the userid and password back to the default cisco account. The drawback here is you loose all the custom sigs and signature tuning which the sensor might have had prior to recovering the application partition.
