Nexus9k wipe configuration

ConceptsL5

Level 1

I have a nexus9k-C9327PX-E switch. I do not know the password and thus I would like to wipe this switch. I have tried what is suggested here: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/sw/password_recovery/b_nx_os_pwr/nx_os_pw.html

I have tried each key combination suggested there. I am connected to the nexus switch via a com port. I have tried to use both putty and MobaXterm as the CLI/emulator application

When I hit Ctrl+C when the switch is rebooted it boots as normal it does not take me to the switch(boot)# prompt

Sounds like the boot interrupt command/keystroke is not getting submitted.

Are you using US keyboard mapping?

That same article mentions also trying Ctrl-] (right square bracket or setting telnet escape key sequence for it.

Kirk..

Yes I am using US keyboard mapping. I have tried Ctrl-], Ctrl+C, Ctrl+ L and Ctrl+B.

what other methods did you try?

you need to escape with Ctrl+C or different keyboard need to use different keyboard strokes.

Thank you for your help. My flow control setting was not set to none. Making that change fixed it!

""If you are using a non-U.S. keymap, the key sequence that you need to press to generate the break
sequence may not work. In this case, we recommend that you set your terminal to a U.S. keymap.
You can enter Ctrl-C instead of Ctrl-] (right square bracket) due to keyboard mapping.
