error during ncs-backup restore

I have NSO v6.1.2 system installtion and i try to do ncs-backup --restore, in order to trigger the shell script that will help me select the designated backup file that i need to restore. the problem is if i pass the command ncs-backup --restore without assigning a specific backup file, i face an error as the following

root@of-nsoprod01:~# /etc/init.d/ncs stop
Stopping ncs: .

root@of-nsoprod01:~# ncs-backup --restore
/opt/ncs/current/bin/ncs-backup: 493: shift: can't shift that many

But if i explicitly select the backup file, restoring works as seen below:

root@of-nsoprod01:~# ncs-backup --restore ncs-6.1.2.1@2023-12-06T18:38:23.backup.gz
Restore /etc/ncs from the backup (y/n)? y
Restore /var/opt/ncs from the backup (y/n)? y
INFO Restore completed successfully

i tried to clean up backup and export new backup files then restore, all these trials failed. am i missing something or it could be a bug in ncs 6.1.2 ?

please advice

The script should according to its description (ncs-backup -h) offer a selection from available backups, when the filename argument is omitted. I tried it myself and got the same error as you. This looks like a bug to me. It should at least not print a weird error like that. Feel free to report this to TAC.
