IOS XR NED Netsim Error

After building a NED from YANG models from IOS XR 7.0.2 on NSO 5.3, I get the following error when attempting to startup a netsim instance of the NED.

"CDB boot error: Init transaction failed to validate: /vm:vm/config: must configure one of: hw-profile, memory, cpu

I believe the NETSIM device is expecting some intial configuration do to mandatory nodes in the top tree. I see two options for you. 1) just delete the vm:vm data model (probably fxs file) in the NETSIM folder of the NED if you do not need it . 2) you need to create a startup XML file with the needed mandatory leafs and host it in the cdb folder for NETSIM.
