NSO service assurance

Sorry for the basic question, but what are NSO capabilities for monitoring of successful deployment of services across the network, without using Netrounds?

I am unclear from the white papers, as everything I look at regarding Service Assurance or indeed any kind of active network monitoring references Netrounds.

Any help appreciated

NSO only makes sure the configuration you expect is on the devices, it does not monitor or check that the service is actually working. For that you will have to have something else like Netrounds. Even in the case of Netrounds NSO doesn't do any monitoring, instead it tells Netrounds about the new service at the same time as it configures the devices and then its up to Netrounds to do the monitoring. The beauty of this setup is that the monitoring in the assurance system is created/delete/changed at the same time as the service itself.

Feel free to substitute Netrounds for any assurance system.
