Hi there,

The Prosumer package works by installing OpenDNS software on devices only. If you are interested in filtering on a network level with customisation the options are either Umbrella Professional (https://www.opendns.com/enterprise-security/threat-enforcement/packages/) or OpenDNS VIP Home (https://www.opendns.com/home-internet-security/). If you would like to discuss changing your package please raise a support case.

Thanks,

Ant

Hi I tried the opendns home vip yesterday and it's still not working

What do you mean "it's still not working"? In order to help you details are needed, including what is happening, and any error messages you are receiving.

"it falsely block some sites"

If it is this, then you may need to open a support ticket with the wrongly categorized domains.  As an immediate measure, you can add the related domains to your "never block" list.  Also, do not use the FamilyShield addresses, but the normal OpenDNS resolver addresses instead, because you cannot whitelist domains being blocked by FamilyShield.

So if the family shield is working and the open home vip isint and trust me I have put in the correct DNS server on my router as the family type works
My problem is: the home vip or whatever is not filtering anything even though in settings I have configured it to block for eg nudity

1) I put the DNs server in my router of the home vip dns.
Can somebody write the Dns of it so I'm sure I have the right one?
2) it's not filtering porn/nudity etc
3) home shield works though on my router but not home vip or the other configurable packages.
4) I have the opendns ip updater
5) I don't know why I'm writing numbers :/

I'm assuming that you've registered your current IP address on your dashboard and there are no errors there or elsewhere when updating things.

Let us know the results when you visit the following webpages http://welcome.opendns.com/ and http://www.exampleadultsite.com/

Copy and paste the full text output from the following commands, don't paraphrase it, we need to see the exact and full output. If you decide to paste a screenshot instead click the Attach file link at the bottom of the page. If you try to share a screenshot with a 3rd-party file sharing services it's entirely possible that we've got it blocked in our filtering settings and won't be able to see it. NOTE: The ending periods with the first two commands are part of the commands you'll be executing, make sure to include them.

nslookup -type=txt debug.opendns.com.

nslookup www.exampleadultsite.com.

ipconfig/all

I too am facing the same problem. Here is what I have done

Background: We have a TP Link archer C7 router, connected to internet through an ISP.

In the TP Link router settings, I have added Open DNS Home Setting (208.67.222.222) , but content does not get filtered (ex: I can still browse objectionable content). Although I have created an Open DNS Home account & and added my local network to it. I have dynamic IP & thus have downloaded IP Updater client also & it is running on the system.

On the other hand, when I set the DNS settings to Family Shield protection (208.67.222.123), that works. And all devices (mobiles/PC's/Laptops) block the objectionable content & display an 'OpenDNS Blocked page'. Any clues?

Any help is appreciated,

Thanks

This can have several reasons.  Copy & paste the complete plain text outputs of the following diagnostic commands to here:

nslookup -type=txt debug.opendns.com.
nslookup whoami.akamai.net.
netsh interface ipv4 show config (Windows only)
ifconfig -all (Linux, OS X)
