Does anyone know if you can have a 10GBase-SR-S SFP+ connected to a 10GBase-SR SFP+? Specs look identical, just trying to get a definitive answer before purchasing.

Sure Only difference you see S- small factor ( do not support FCoE thats all) and cost effective compare to SR.
