I've gotten all the other ports (10g and 100g) to correctly turn green when an sfp or qsfp is plugged in and doing "show controllers optics x/x/x/x" shows that the laser state is on so i know that its linking. For the 25g ports the led stays yellow when an sfp is plugged in, but if an sfp is plugged into the 25g port when you reboot the switch then the led is green or if you change an arbitrary setting for that port (i changed the description for example) then the led turns green. however if you do "show controllers optics x/x/x/x" for that port the laser state is off so i dont think its actually linking. Also "show controllers optics" shows that the tx power is -40 dbm which might be the issue because if you plug the same 25g sfp into a different switch it correctly links and the tx power is normal.

tx power is -40 dbm typically indicates the lack of signal on the fiber, Is the polarity correct (Tx/Rx)? Do you have a power meter to confirm whether the signal is present at the patch cord?

Hello Cisco Community,
I Have the following unit PN: N540-24Z8Q2C-M V01 with version 7.4.2
does not recognize QSFP-100G-LR4-S in HundredGigE0/0/1/1 I get the following error.
#LC/0/0/CPU0:2023 Aug 10 22:55:01.959 GMT-6: optics_driver[294]: %PKT_INFRA-FM-3-FAULT_MAJOR : ALARM_MAJOR :OPTICS SUPPORTED_ERROR :DECLARE :0/0/CPU0: Optics0/0/1/1
When inserted in the other port Hun0/0/1/0 I get no errors
I was thinking maybe the controller is configured or disabled somehow. Any help is appreciated.
