Hi
This is a case of a company with 3 branches. Two of these braches are connected with dark fiber.
The network admin didn't prefer to use VPN IPSEC to connect the branches each other.
He preferred to use dark fiber.
If I design by Packet tracer two routers connected with fiber. Each router represents one branch. Is this design would be a good way to simulate dark fiber?
Other questions:
Why VPN IPSEC would be slower than dark fiber?
Does dark fiber work as point-to-point wan topology?
Is there a web page with an example about how to configure two routers using dark fiber with packet tracer?
Can each router be configured with the same network segment for private IPs using dark fiber?

Dark Fiber is plan Ethernet cable, any Middle of attach can be possible, ( if you have latest Switches, you can enable MAC Sec on Layer 2)
ther questions:
Why VPN IPSEC would be slower than dark fiber?
- Not slow, it require encap and decap, than plain Layer 2, New hardware you would not see major speed issue, they process in good in hardware.
Does dark fiber work as point-to-point wan topology?
- Dark Fibre, means provider giving layer 2 fibre between, depends on provider terminology again.
Is there a web page with an example about how to configure two routers using dark fiber with packet tracer?
- PT emulator ? you need to just use Layer 2 connection ethernet connected between devices
Can each router be configured with the same network segment for private IPs using dark fiber?
- yes Layer 2 means same broadcast domain or VLAN, how you looking to deliver and configure your choice.

Think of dark fiber as just a long optical patch cord being plugged into an optical transceiver in a line card. You can provision services over the fiber just as you would between any two fiber connected devices.
