Hello,
Have a question regarding the use of CVR-QSFP-SFP10G modules with 10G sfp(s). I use Cisco 9500-12Q switches, QSFP Based ports. Sometimes we don't breakout the QSFP port and use a CVR-QSFP-SFP10G module is either a 10G or 1G sfp(s). The interface is working but I am not able to run the show interface <Int #> transceiver details command. When I run this command I get the following error:
Diagnostic Monitoring Data is not available.
This question is primarily for people who use Cisco branded CVR-QSFP-SFP10G modules with Cisco Branded 10G sfp(s). I use a Third Party supplier for the CVR-QSFP-SFP10G modules and sfps I use, same 3rd party for both.
If you are using 3rd party Optics and this command gives you an output, I would also love to hear from you.
Thanks

so ended up opening a TAC case to get an answer.
For the 9500-12Q, quoting the TAC Engineer: "CVR-QSFP-SFP10G has no DOM capabilities"

Not sure if cisco can give you 3rd part product that outcome.

I am more interested if Cisco Branded CVR-QSFP-SFP10G module and 10G sfp on a Cisco switch does give an output when the show interface <interface #> transceiver details command is used.

Most important question is: What firmware is the switch on?

It is running the latest IOS-XE. But not trying to troubleshoot my switch.
I am asking other people's experiences with these modules and sfp and what output they are getting when running the show interface transceiver commands

My experience with Cisco-branded optics is a hit-and-miss and, particularly with IOS-XE, is highly reliant on the firmware.
16.12.X, for instance, had so many issues with Cisco-branded optics, however, 3rd party optics work fine.
Currently, I am seeing some bugs being discovered with Cisco-branded QSFP in 17.X.X.

Hello Leo,
Have you used the CVR-QSFP-SFP10G modules and 10G sfp? Are you able to tell me if you get an output when you issue the show interface <interface #> transceiver details command?

1) Cisco 9500-12Q
2) 17.03.04 CAT9K_IOSXE

CVR means "converter". So what optics is in it?
Output below is from a 9500-32C (IOS-XE version 16.12.5b, Install Mode) & the SFP+ is 3rd party.

Are the optics Cisco-branded or not?

Cisco TAC replied based on Cisco Branded.
I am using 3rd party.
In any case there is no DOM Support
