ISR4321/K9 - %TRANSCEIVER-3-NOT_SUPPORTED

Hi All,

Per this link, the GLC-SX-MMD should be compatible with the ISR4321/K9

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/routers/4000-series-integrated-services-routers-isr/relevant-interfaces-and-modules.html

However, this is the error that I receive:

000117: *Nov 16 21:31:00.146 UTC: %TRANSCEIVER-3-NOT_SUPPORTED: SIP0: iomd:  Detected for transceiver module in Gigabitethernet0/0/0, module disabled

I have tried another GLC-SX-MMD module and the results are the same. I have tried the following IOS versions:

isr4300-universalk9.03.16.04b.S.155-3.S4b-ext.SPA.bin

isr4300-universalk9.03.16.07b.S.155-3.S7b-ext.SPA.bin

No luck with either. I have tried a GLC-LH-SMD and it works fine. What could the issue be with the GLC-SX-MMD modules? The GLC-SX-MMD modules do show up in inventory:

NAME: "subslot 0/0 transceiver 0", DESCR: "GE SX"
PID: GLC-SX-MMD , VID: , SN: FNS17110D30

They also work in another Cisco device. What am I missing?

Thanks in advance!

Please raise a TAC Case. This could be CSCug11055.
NOTE: I know there is a command to enable it but I'm not recommending it.

Thanks for the response Leo Laohoo! The workaround described for CSCug11055 seems to have got things working for me now. Any particular reason why this shouldn't be used long term?
