Hello

i've problem with my Cisco WS C3750G-48TS and SFP  CISCO GLC-LH-SM

when i put my SFP into port 49 , my cisco says:

Description: Gi1/0/49: This port has been disabled because Non Compliant  Gigabit Interface Converter (GBIC) connector detected

and port has beed disabled . I checked in cicso and my SFP is in compatibile list

what can i do to enable port and uplink ???

show interface command:

show interface gigabitEthernet 1/0/49
GigabitEthernet1/0/49 is down, line protocol is down (err-disabled)
Hardware is Gigabit Ethernet, address is 1caa.07d1.8b31 (bia 1caa.07d1.8b31)
  Description: 1
MTU 1500 bytes, BW 10000 Kbit, DLY 1000 usec,
     reliability 255/255, txload 1/255, rxload 1/255
  Encapsulation ARPA, loopback not set
  Keepalive not set
Auto-duplex, Auto-speed, link type is auto, media type is 1000BaseLX SFP
input flow-control is off, output flow-control is unsupported

in other side i have uniFi US-16-XG with UF-SM-10G transc. and port set manually to 1000

please help

Yes thats why i was suggesting to try the copper , fibre cant be changed in terms of speed and duplex it is what it is basically and if the auto negotiation is not working between both switches your stuck as you cant hardset on Cisco fibre anyway, maybe the copper and using hardset will work both ends as you can on Cisco copper ports

Hi
Try this under the interface , is it a cisco sfp or 3rd party ?
no errdisable detect cause gbic-invalid

Try this under gobal conf
service unsupported-transceiver

It is an original cisco sfp module

How to run this command on the interface?

Is it possible that ios version is non comaptibile ?? minimum cisco soft required for GLC-LH-SM is 12.1.(14)EA1. On my switch is 12.2(50)SE5.

also check this sfp module in catalyst 2960-48TC (also compatibile) and there no errors, link is OK

hello again

i changed port status from err-dissabled to enabled via shut/no shut commands.

now i have enabled ports but still no link between CISCO 3750 and Ubiquiti XS-16

now show interface command shows:

GigabitEthernet1/0/49 is down, line protocol is down (notconnect)
Hardware is Gigabit Ethernet, address is 1caa.07d1.8b31 (bia 1caa.07d1.8b31)
  Description: 1
MTU 1500 bytes, BW 10000 Kbit, DLY 1000 usec,
     reliability 255/255, txload 1/255, rxload 1/255
  Encapsulation ARPA, loopback not set
  Keepalive not set
Auto-duplex, Auto-speed, link type is auto, media type is 1000BaseLX SFP

what can i do to link up?

ps: my CISCo 3750 is in stack

its most likely because the connection is between the Cisco and the Ubiquiti and its not a supported a connection the sfps cant talk to each other , do you have another Cisco switch you can test to to rule it out ?
did you run the commands i posted before ?
THe alert your getting is stating something is not supported

EVENT NOTIFICATION -

Description:: This port has been disabled because Non Compliant Gigabit Interface Converter (GBIC) connector detected.

Recommendation: Replace connector with cisco compliant Gigabit Interface Converter (GBIC) connector. Refer switch technical documentation to determine cisco compliant connector. Enable the port again.

no i don't run this command

the err-disabled port was because i used to test other SFP (port has been disabled and i thougth that enables ayutomaticly :) )

no i use original cisco SFP, so i found that err-disabled ort mus be shut/no shut - so i done.

I wonder if the CISCO configuration does not affect the activiti

on cisco i configured in CiscoNetwork Assistant :

1) aggregation between ports Gi1/0/49 and Gi2/0/49 (etherchanell)

2) trunk on this etherchannel

on ubiquiti also aggregation , trunk and mannualy set speed to 1000

it's hard to check connection beetwen 2960 and 3750 because i have it in a different localization

set the other side to be auto as well and make sure its a trunk too if thats whats set on the Cisco side so they match see if that bring its up , it may not like the sfp it communicating with on the far end

i'll check and let you know

i'll also try connect single ports without etherchannel

switches are in one room and connection via RJ45 is OK (but i want connect them via SFP)

sorry for my english :)

tested few configuration on other switches and i've few conclusions

1. I changed switches to CISCO 2960 and UniFi US-48 with 2 ports SFP and 2 ports SFP+

2. connection beetwen UniFi SPF+  and Cisco SPF in different configurations - NO LINK

3. connection beetwen UniFi SPF  and Cisco SPF -  LINK LINK LINK :)

so i think ther is a problem, because US-16-XG hav only SFP+ ports :(

that's unfortunate , i thought you were able to hardset it to 1000mb , usually that would suggest it could be a 1000mb to as well as a sfp+ , i know the cisco sfp+ can be backward compataible to 1gb

does this have to be fibre ? looking at the doc for that switch it has copper ports too , that may work at 1gb , as you could hardset both sides in copper and avoid negotiation

hi again

when i set 1000mb on unifi sfp+  - port is seems to be linked (light green), but on other side on cisco

i haven't link

unfortunately on cisco SFP port i cann't set speed to 1000 -in web gui i have only auto speed

yes, i know that unifi have 4 cooper ports :) probably i'll link switches via cooper ports at least (tested, worked)

thanks for helping me anyway

Yes thats why i was suggesting to try the copper , fibre cant be changed in terms of speed and duplex it is what it is basically and if the auto negotiation is not working between both switches your stuck as you cant hardset on Cisco fibre anyway, maybe the copper and using hardset will work both ends as you can on Cisco copper ports

I solved the problem ...

the problem was in the Unifi 10G transceiver

in SPF+ i put the cisco 1G transciever and everything started as well :))

now i have 1G SFP transc. on both sides and link is OK
