Hi, I have have some problem with the 7912. The phone is slow to react. If I press the 'new call' soft key or taking off the hook, I got a dial tone after 2 or 3 secondes. That's supose to the more fast then that. My setup is actually 2 vlan, one for the phones and 1 for the CCM 4.1(sr3) on a MCS-7825-H, and the routing between this 2 vlans is made by a PIX515 7.0(1).
Do you have a solution ?

Hello Francis,
1. Do you see the same behavior even if you put the CCM and the IP phones on the same switch and same VLAN?
2. Do you see this problem on just one 7912 phone or all the phones?
3. Does this affect any other model of IP phone (7960, 7940, etc)?
4. Do you have a lot of other traffic flowing through the PIX other than the Voice traffic?
5. Is there proper QoS configured?
Regards,
Srikanth

From the information, it looks like there might be problems with routing delays and/or packet drops. Also, 7912s and 7902s have a smaller CPU and memory, so they are slower than 7940s/7960s.
To troubleshoot further, I would look at each of the devices in the path of the CCM and the phone (routers/switches) for drops/errors/delays on interfaces/ports. From the description you provided earlier, it looks like you just have one switch and a PIX. See if the situation improves if you replace the PIX with a router (this is just to narrow down to see where the problem is).

My FW has the "inspect tftp" and the "inspect skinny", I removed it and now all is perfect ! But I don't understand why I have to remove theses commands to have a VoIP solution working good...Do you have an idea ?
