I have a 7960 which it in a knot! I don't know what version of s/w is on it but is boot up with universal app loader and I can see it keep looking for CTLSEPXXXXXXXXXXXX.tlv file from the tftp server which it does not find but then is just looks for it again instead of moving on to the next file as per the document. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps4967/products_upgrade_guides09186a008022a968.html#wp1047292

Any ideas how to get the phone out of this

Are you using encryption, if not then the error for the tlv file is nothing to worry about? What are you using to view the status of the phone when registering, TFTP traces or a sniffer? If using TFTP traces ensure that you have it set to detailed not error.

Mike

I am not using encryption. I am using the callmanager detailed tftp trace and I can see my phones keeps asking for the CTLSEP.tlv file over and over again. The phones don not ask for any other file (like SEP.cnf.xml) The history of my problem was that I was testing a sip phone and the CM got rebooted now all my phones are in a knot. I don't know at this stage what s/w is on them. They are always in Universal app loader screen.

Did you find out what was your problem...???

I have the same symptoms: My phones that were previously registered are now "not found". They keep trying to connect on the CCM.

When looking at the CCM traces on PUB, I see that the phone is trying to reach a CTLFile.tlv

The phone can apparently download the SEP.....cnf.xml but still does not register.

My CTL service is desactivated so there should be not request for such file.

ANYONE CAN HELP ?

thanks.
