Hello,
My customer currently has a Cluster (3.3(4))that was already 'plugged into' Active Directory. Now my customer wants his newly installed Cluster (4.0(2a)), which is located in a different area, to be 'plugged into' the same Active Directory as the first Cluster.
So.. questions..
Is it possible to integrate two seperate Clusters, with different CCM versions, into the same AD Schema?
Would there be any conflict in terms of Cisco specific attributes and rights related to the two Clusters?
Also, would I have to extend the Schema again because of the second Cluster being 4.0(2a)?
Thanks in advance.

You cannot integrate two seperate Clusters, with different CCM versions, into the same AD Schema

Thanks for your response.. However, per the Cisco BU, version 3.3(3) resolved this issue.. in that two OU's would have to be created for this to work.. However, they did say there were a number of caveats.. gotta love that.

basic thumb rule of this is to have same schema and structure so you can not have a diffrent version of CCM integrated to same AD.

Correct me if I'm wrong :-) but....
In AD you have a single global schema - and once you extend it, you can't go back. If you add attributes or whatever they stay there forever, although you can disable them...
So if you install (for example) CM3.3, then upgrade to CM4.0, and extend the schema again... More attributes are added, but nothing is taken out... So (unless Cisco disable an attribute for some reason, which would probably cause problems if you are upgrading servers whilst the system is in use - I wouldn't think they'd do it) provided that you install the two clusters in different OUs, they should be able to use all the attributes/objects in AD that they need and ignore the ones that they don't...
