we can connect as5300 to Passport 7480 via the Eth directly? see below:
pbx------AS5300--(ETH)----7480----ATM MESH---
nortel's engineers said:the 7480 with router:OSPF,RIP,BGP,IGRP;if do like this,no problems?
or
pbx------AS5300--(ETH)--7206---7480---ATM MESH---
but this is very expensive for the cisco7206 added

If the 7480 has a normal Ethernet port, then certainly. The only gotcha is if that Ethernet port on the 7480 is for management or similar purposes, which is the way the Cisco wan switches operate, as does the Cat4000 which has an ME1 interface.

thank you doyle, the Eth on 7480 is normal ethernet port, but if the AS5300 connect the 7480,
i worry about the QOS,because the 7480 is just ATM Node, can not supply any QOS mechanism for guaranting
the voice quality, second the VOIP is based H.323 structure,
you mean only the AS5300 can handle this?
the scenario is we have 20 ATM NODES (7480),and 20 AS5300s,A AS5300 per 7480, the ATM WAN is mesh, with
several Gatekeepers,
can you give me a document on as5300 connect the ATM
NODE? or something related, thank you
