ATA 186 and Fax

Hi

I install a ATA 186-l1 for Fax machine. On the other hand, the ATA is configed by SCCP photocal to connect to callmanager. I met the problem, the fax machine is always drop call or translation error, when the fax paper is much. I try to change the speed link of machine below 9600bps. But that is no change. On the other hand, my ATA 186-l1 version is 3.1(0). Do you have any paremeter can be set on ATA 186-l1 to make ATA stable.

Callmanager version is 4.0(1) sr 2a.

AudioMode 0x00150015

ConnectMode 0x90000400 <-this setup payload 100 711ulaw and passthru

Depending on the type of gw (h323? mgcp? 6608? etc.) you have, there is additional recommend guidelines

FYI, I don't think you need to drop the speed down. Just don't go above 9600:

thank your reply. That is more useful. My gateway is connected to 6608. Is it more additional recommend guidelines to solve the problem ?

Ok. not sure then as there is not a lot of info when it comes to faxing btwn non-ios(6608) to non-ios(ata18x). Anyways, check out the 4.0 design guide under voice gateway>fax/modem

On my last post, 1st link the 6608 has a nse of 101 instead of 100 so that might need to change your "connectmode" but I am not sure to what parameters.

actually I think connectmode is 0x90000500 if I am doing the bit conversion correction with 101.

also with the vg248 example, I would follow the passthru mode example but the only question I would have is the "fax payload size" parameter which I would not change but test at whatever default it has.
