Hello,

I am looking for suggestions on backing up my loggers and HDS'. I currently use the procedure ad staten in ,http://www.cisco.com/warp/customer/78/icm_db_bkup.html but this does not take care of the entire drive should it Fail.

Hi,

The procedure given above is sufficient to restore an ICM DB from scratch.

I did'nt understand the phrase "entire drive should it Fail. "

The things needed to restore an ICM DB from the start are

Entire database

ICM configuration and Script data

NT Registry

However cisco suggests that you use fault tolerance on ICM by duplexing the ICM which virtually gives you 0 downtime in case of ICM failure. In case you cannot afford the above then you can implement redundancy by the following

Regularly backups

disk mirroring

Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks (RAID) configurations

Rgds

Anand

We use Harbor for our entire ICM infrastructure. We are in the process of migrating that over to Veritas. The 2 above solutions perform what you are looking for as far as backing up the entire server to some sort of solution. Hope that helps.

Thanks, I am looking into Veritas at this time. They look like the best solution at this point.
