Is there some way to get CM to call back to the phone that placed a call on hold and is there a timer for this feature? Sometimes the person who placed a call on hold gets interrupted and forgets that they placed a call on hold. (Obviously, if they are looking at their phone they can see that a call is on hold.) We need some way for the held call to call back after a certain amount of time or the call waits forever and gets a bit upset. This happens infrequently but it does happen.

Currently there are two major timers missing in Call Manager,
1. Hold Recall. Place a call on hold, after a preset time the call indicates back to the user via audible signal that the call is on hold.
2. Transfer Recall. A call transferred to an extension that does not answer and does not have a forward on No Answer destination set, recalls back to the transferring extension.
These are frustrating timers to be missing, but missing they are.
The only way to achieve what you want is to educate the users to use Park, instead of hold. Hey tell them it's new improved hold because they can pick the call up from anywhere. But as it stands it's probably your best option.

Thanks for the confirmation. Obviously, I agree they are major missing features. I've been asked several times why a call back doesn't occur on a blind transfer that's not picked up. We do a lot of transfers to non-IP phones. Maybe someone in development will take note and add them to the next release.

How do you park a call?
