Call Manager Express Integration with Alcatel PBX

Hi,

I have a call manager express running on a cisco 2811 router. In the same premises I have an Alcatel 4400 PBX and till now they are still 2 separate systems. How can I connect the two systems together by using FXO or FXS ports? I was thinking of using FXO voice ports connected to normal PBX extensions, but this would limit me to the number of FXO ports that the 2811 can handle. The problem comes when calls are coming inward to the call manager from the Alcatel. I would have to set up a 1:1 relation (using connection plar) between the FXO lines and the number of users on the Call Manager but as I already stated, it would not be viable.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

Your best bet here is to use digital interface, i.e. ISDN PRI or BRI.

Digital is the only way you will get around the number of physical interfaces.

How many simultaneous calls are you trying to achieve between the two systems?

Cheers,

Tim

Hi I too am looking for a similar connection, i found out that the best way to connect the two of them is by using isdn pri or bri connction and sip them and using a vwic module on the router. i cant find any document on how to connect to the alcatell 4400 pbx and make the needed changes. Anybody can quickly guide me around this problem.
