Ken,

We had a similar problem. In our case it turned out to be the service provider had not screened our phones for caller ID. Refer to this post for another solution that was provided for us.

Hi Ron,

I follow your instruction, it is work. However, I call my cell, only get 4 digits.

We have 2 callmanager(primary and secondary), use 4 digits dialing plan.

The phone I got from cell phone is the one I assign to IP PHone (DN number).

Also, I use 3640 T1/PRI.

How can I get 10 digits. For example: IP Phone(DN:5000), I want my cell recieve (212 234-5000) something like that.

Is there anyway to accomplish this problem.

Ken

You could try and check your route patterns and add the party transform mask there to append the numbers you want. Not sure if this is what you are looking for.

"Presentation Bit" is for inbound. If you would like the PSTN user to see the DN from the IP phone you need to code it in the "External Phone Number Mask" on the IP phone's line setting page

You can use external phone number mask, but I have found it easier to set the calling party mask on the route pattern or route group. You also have to check with your provider to make sure your numbers are enabled for caller ID. I had a situation where I would hand out the individual DID and get no caller id, when I changed the mask to the main number, it worked fine. Only the main number was enabled for Caller ID.

Another approach to get your 10 digit Caller ID sent out would be to set on the gateway the parameter "Caller ID DN" to something like this: 30776XXXXX assuming your using five digit dialing.
