Hi
I meet a problem. If I config a cp-7960 phone which ext is 3633 before. I want to config a 7970
ip phone which is same ext number 3633. So I config the phone and delete the Cp-7960. the configuration is all over.
however, I can not dial in this CP-7970. Is it a bug ??

If you have access to Cisco BugToolKit , that would be the best place to check if there are any known issues.

What happens when you dial 3633? busy, fast busy or it says invalid number?
check calling search space and partition issues.
try deleting the 7970 and adding it back again, just in case any issues with sql database.

Also,
Did you reset the phones after the changes? Did the phones really reset (is number on phone display, etc).
Also in 4.0, when you delete a number it is not really fully deleted until you delete it from the unasssigned numbers list. Thats where it goes when you remove it from a phone.
More on that here:

Delete the 7970 from callmanager, (or you can try changing its extension), then Go to routeplan report, find the number 3633 and delete it. Now add the 7970 back again (or change the DN back to 3633).
See if this helps!
