Hi
I am facing an issue with a Cisco DX80 model. The unit is registered to a CUCM.
The problem is the microphone when using Skype for Business. Please see the attached picture.
In the settings for the Skype for Business I can choose the DX80 as speaker and ringer but there are no entry for the DX80 microphone as the one for the laptop itself. As the DX80 screen is also used as monitor for the laptop this off course gives a bad sound quality for the listener. Now, I would like to have the Skype to use the microphones build in to the DX80. But it seems not to be possible. We are using CE software for the DX80 endpoints.
I have tried to make test calls using the DX80 as video conference unit to another Cisco videoconf system and here we have no problem with the microphone / sound of the system.
The problem is obviously that the microphone can not be chosen in the settings of the Skype for Business. I assume that it must be possible?
Best regards
Brian

When you have a laptop connected to the DX80 or any TelePresence endpoint for that matter, you can only use it as an extra monitor and speaker, the microphone isn't connected and can't be used with the computer.

Hi,
I have a user that is having this same problem with his DX80 and Skype. Was wondering since this post was in 2016 if it is still relevant to the microphone not working with Skype for Business?
Thank you for your time,
Cheryl
